Hello! 

My name is Emily Leary, but most of my friends just call me, Em. :) 
 

I am a wedding and portrait photographer originally from Northwestern Pa, and currently based out of Wichita, Kansas, but I love to travel so no worries if you have found me from far away, or if you have a destination wedding planned! 

 

My first photographs came from the eyes of the itty bitty 3 year old walking through Disney version of me, I had a whole disposable camera filled with photographs of peoples feet. I could claim I was a child prodigy who understood the stories a pair of shoes could carry, but in reality, I was three, I genuinely couldn't see much else. :) 

 

I now find myself photographing super fun people and creating beautiful images with them! I believe that a portrait is not created in the camera but rather on either side of it which is why I value the relationships I create with my clients! 

So here is a little bit of what you can expect when you work with me: 

I can be very outgoing and love to laugh! 

I may make super silly faces or sounds at you to get you to laugh, I think it is way more fun than the tradtional "Ok on three everybody smile." 

I may have you posed and ready to go, you will be expecting me to step in front of you and snap the photo...DO NOT be alarmed when I start to climb on a nearby rock or tree, or if i lay down on the ground...sometimes lifes best moments come when you change perspective and I believe that also translates to photos. 
 

Referring back to my previous statement, if I bring my super awesome man with me, do not be surprised if I am on his shoulders for some of your photos. I am short and will absolutely take advantage of being lucky enough to have a man who loves me enough to be my mobile ladder!! He really does love me, I swear! :) 

I love to dress up so you don't ever have to worry about the "frumpy photograper" showing up. I can assure you I will always be dressed professionally, with natural make up, and a polished hair do. 

 

Many times when I photograph a wedding I become much more than just the photographer, I will happily help with decorations if needed, I have many times helped with set up, and the day of I will be helping to keep the bride calm and ensure that the day goes as smoothly as possible, one wedding I photographed I even drove the bride to the church! 

 

Some more fun facts about me outside of my photography:

 

I have run 3 half marathons, 2 of which were in the happiest place on Earth...DISNEY! The 2 events in Disney were through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, which my big sis Jen inspired me to get involved in. LLS is an amazing organization and I am grateful I had the opportunity to help raise funds for the blood born cancer research and patient care. 

 

 

I competed in a pageant in college to benefit Shriners Hospital. This was such a fun and fulfilling event for me, I was a patient at Shriners as a youngster and it was an honor to participate in an event to raise funds to help them keep treating kiddos. :) 

 

I was a varsity cheerleader in high school and I strongly believe this is where my outgoing personality and silly faces come from! 

I am a romantic at heart and have been with my man since we were 15 years old. :)
